Although noncommunicable diseases (NCDs)—including T1D—account for 74% of global deaths, they remain severely underfunded and underprioritized, receiving only 1-2% of global health financing. Without urgent action, T1D will continue to strain health systems and threaten lives. Health systems in LMICs often lack the resources to meet the needs of people living with T1D, and millions still face significant barriers to diagnosis, treatment, and care—preventing them from receiving the support needed to survive and thrive.
