Amy Dempsey

Communications Program Officer

Amy Dempsey is a communications program officer at Panorama. In her role, she leads the Panorama team in developing diverse communications strategies for internal and external audiences, and supports the organization’s thought leadership initiatives. Bridging her background in project management, global health, and journalism, Amy collaborates with stakeholders to develop strategic communications plans and strategies that improve health outcomes. She is dedicated to using storytelling campaigns as a tool for policy change, and blends extensive in-country experience and communications skills to deliver results, creative ideas, and solutions.

Prior to joining the Panorama team, Amy worked for Population Council in Washington D.C. and managed all knowledge translation and communications activities for the organization’s maternal and newborn health portfolio, which included projects dedicated to preventing and treating hypertension in pregnancy, fistula, and infant sepsis, and improving community health worker programs. She also worked at Population Services International in Ethiopia and Washington DC, where she focused on maternal nutrition and infant and young child feeding practices. Amy also worked for the United States Agency for International Development health teams in Ethiopia and Zambia. Before working in global health, she was a reporter for community and county-wide newspapers in California.

Amy received her Master of Arts in International Development and Certificate of Global Health Affairs from the University of Denver, and Bachelor of Arts in Print Journalism from California State University, Fullerton.

Amy is new to Seattle, and spends her free time frequenting the local ice cream shops.
