Andrea Ackerman is a Senior Project Manager for the Scalable Solutions team. She serves as the primary touchpoint for a portfolio of externally led projects across multiple issue areas including human rights and gender equity, working closely with a range of partners to support these projects.
Andrea joins Panorama most recently from the Fair Work division of the International Migration Initiative at Open Society Foundations in New York City. There she coordinated grantmaking, advocacy, and campaigns to ensure that migrants, women, and other excluded workers are employed under just and equitable conditions in order to build worker power and inclusive, regenerative economies. Prior to joining OSF, Andrea worked at the political risk consulting firm Eurasia Group, where she helped launch the Eurasia Group Foundation.
Andrea earned her MS in Global Affairs from New York University with concentrations in transnational security and gender, during which she worked to advance the Women, Peace and Security agenda as well as women’s financial inclusion globally, while also piloting field research on post-conflict security sector reform and transitional justice across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, the Netherlands, and in Rwanda. She received her BA in Political Science from Georgia State University and is an Atlanta native.
When she’s not collaborating to find creative solutions to global problems, Andrea enjoys writing, swimming, beach days, visiting her favorite coffee shops and restaurants, and spending time with loved ones.
