Women who lack access to basic health services are highly vulnerable to cervical cancer, a widely preventable disease. The most common sexually transmitted disease in the world, human papillomavirus (HPV), can lead to cervical cancer if left untreated.
Yet cervical cancer is preventable, thanks to interventions such as the HPV vaccine and regular screening and treatment programs. Until population-wide access to prevention tools is achieved, women lacking access to basic health services will be disproportionally affected.
TogetHER identifies key issues in the fight against cervical cancer and uses its global connections to start and scale up programs in low-resource settings. As fiscal sponsor, Panorama Global has partnered with TogetHER since its inception. Panorama provides TogetHER with grant management, contract administration, HR, and compliance support. With administrative and compliance functions in Panorama’s hands, the TogetHER team can focus on mobilizing action against cervical cancer.
In 2019, Panorama supported TogetHER in its inaugural small grants program. Targeted grants were awarded to address barriers and to strengthen the adoption of cervical cancer prevention technologies.
TogetHER works with partners including the American Cancer Society, FHI360, Jhpiego, PATH, and PSI to share and collaborate in the fight to end cervical cancer. Partners join calls and participate in events and webinars to make their programs more effective.
Panorama’s sponsorship allows me to focus my time on my program, knowing that Panorama will manage all grant management and administrative details. -Celina Schocken, Executive Director of TogetHER
