Ramadan Assi is an expert on global development and humanitarian aid. He is the founder and CEO of Global Engagement Platform, a consultancy that coaches and supports leaders in the humanitarian and development sectors. He is also senior advisor to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Turkey and to the president of the Turkish Red Crescent.
Previously, Ramadan was the director of global strategy at the International Medical Corps, a global organization active in more than 35 countries with an annual operations budget that exceeded $400 million. During his tenure, he identified and led strategic partnership opportunities on a global basis with special emphasis on the Middle East and North Africa region.
He also worked with Qatar Charity, the World Health Organization, and CARE International, serving in some challenging emergency humanitarian settings in Haiti, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Niger, Palestine, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.
Ramadan earned a master’s in public health and a graduate certificate in human rights from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and a bachelor of arts in business administration from Birzeit University Palestine. In 2013, he was chosen as a Goodwill Ambassador for World NGO Day.
