Cate Blair

Program Officer

Cate Blair is an operations and program strategy professional who believes in the power of optimism, collaboration, and persistence to effect change. Her focus is on bringing people together to solve tough problems through efficient approaches and rigorous analysis.

Cate’s business acumen stems from her work with large and small organizations across the non-profit sector, as well as governments and for-profit companies. Her work spans both operations roles and program development, including experience with stakeholder management, donor relations, and strategy development.

At the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, she helped create initiatives such as Gates Philanthropy Partners, a new non-profit that allows people to co-invest with the Gates Foundation to improve the lives of the world’s poorest. She also managed large projects and produced reports for a variety of high-level audiences. Before the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Cate worked as a project manager at F5 Networks. She also lived and worked in Japan for two years.

Cate holds a masters of business administration from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington and studied theater at Grinnell College. She is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
