Annie Livingston

Philanthropic Adviser

Annie Livingston is a philanthropic advisor who believes individuals can have meaningful impact when they deliberately apply their resources for social change. Her focus is on helping philanthropists develop their personal giving strategies, understand the landscape, implement programs, and collaborate with others.

Annie has spent nearly two decades in philanthropy, managing high-profile programs, building relationships with philanthropic leaders, and developing strategies. She implemented projects and grants spanning a wide-range of topics, from HIV prevention to international rule-of-law to arts funding.

Before joining Panorama, Annie spent 13 years advancing the mission of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She was chief of staff for Bill Gates Sr., directing his grantmaking, public outreach, and voice. She also advised several international families on developing personal giving strategies. As a leader in the communications division, she oversaw strategic planning and pipeline and portfolio management. In 2007, Annie spent several months in Beijing launching the China office.

Earlier in her career, Annie worked on policy at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. and on art acquisitions for the Metropolitan Museum of art in New York.

She holds an MBA from George Washington University School of Business, focused on nonprofit management, and a BA in art history from Yale University.
